Why Start Before AP Classes Begin?

01

Start Strong

Students who preview core material begin the year reinforcing rather than encountering concepts for the first time. That difference shows up immediately in grades.

02

Better AP Scores

A summer foundation directly translates to stronger first-quarter grades and a better trajectory toward a 4 or 5 on the May exam.

03

Personalized Plan

Every student gets a study plan built around their starting point. Not a generic curriculum, but a targeted roadmap for where they actually need work.

04

Expert Instructor

Yale-educated, National Merit Finalist, 36 on ACT Science, with 5+ years teaching AP-level biology and calculus. Not just someone who took the class.

What Is Covered

Cell Biology and Metabolism
Cell structure, membrane dynamics, enzymes, ATP, cellular respiration, and photosynthesis. The metabolic foundation that the entire AP Biology course builds on.
Genetics and Molecular Biology
Mendelian genetics, pedigrees, probability, DNA replication, transcription, translation, and an introduction to gene regulation. Heavily tested throughout the AP course.
Evolution and Ecology
Natural selection, Hardy-Weinberg, speciation, ecosystems, energy flow, and population dynamics. Some of the most heavily tested material on the AP Biology exam.
AP Exam Strategy and Free-Response Practice
How the AP Biology exam is structured, how to approach free-response questions, and how to write scientifically. Skills most students do not practice until it is already too late.

What Is Covered

Functions, Graphs, and Transformations
Function notation, domain and range, piecewise functions, and graph transformations. The language of calculus starts here, and fluency with functions is non-negotiable before AP Calc AB.
Algebra Fluency
Factoring, rational expressions, equation solving, and algebraic manipulation. Students who struggle in AP Calculus almost always have gaps in algebra that were never fully addressed.
Trigonometry Foundations
Unit circle, basic trig functions, identities, and inverse trig. AP Calculus assumes trig fluency from day one. Students who are shaky on trig will hit a wall by week three of the course.
Limits and Rate of Change Preview
An introduction to the concept of a limit and instantaneous rate of change so the first weeks of AP Calculus AB feel familiar rather than foreign. Not a full calculus unit, but a strong conceptual preview.

Summer 2026 Cohort

June 30 – August 6
Tues & Thurs · 7:30–9:00 PM EST · 6 weeks

One cohort offered this summer, running during Phase 2 alongside ACT and SAT Science. Finishes the first week of August, giving students time to rest before the fall semester begins.
